Es gibt so Tage, an denen packt es mich. Still sitzen ist nahezu unmöglich und musikalisch kann es kaum urlaubiger sein. An diesen Tagen kann mich so ein Mix wie dieser von DJ Sensay & Kid Gringo komplett mitreißen. Zeitgeist Blingerz:

Das neueste Machwerk des US Bassmusik Produzenten Bassnectar erscheint in Deutschland offiziell zu seinem Auftritt bei dem Festivaldouble Hurricane/Southside in Scheeßel und Neuhausen am 22-24 Juni. Dank Self-Publishing braucht aber niemand mehr diesen einen Monat abwarten. Auf der Website von Bassnectar gibt es jetzt schon das digitale Release des Albums schon zu kaufen. Die übrigen Varianten, als Double Vinyl, Limited CD etc. können ebenfalls schon bestellt werden.

Tardiss haben mit ihrer aktuellen LP “Mold and Moisture” einige Anspielungen in die IDM Szene hinausgetragen. Der Titel “Mid Lake Left” soll noch einmal an “Left Side Drive” von Boards of Canada erinnern. Andere Tracks bedienen sich Klangelementen der IDM-Szene und bilden verwaschen und neu konstruiert wundervolle ambiente Downbeatklänge. Die LP ist beim Netlabel No Source erschienen und steht unter der CC-Lizenz (CC-by-NC)

“Mold and Moisture, the fourth release by Tardiss on No-Source Netlabel is a trip back in time. These nine tracks make up a collection of early works recorded between 2002 and 2004. Boutique Beats: A Tribute to MCA by Chris Read (Musicofsubstance) on Mixcloud

Chris Read von Music of Substance hat ebenfalls einen sehr hörenswerten Tribute Mix, zu Ehren von Adam (MCA) Yauch veröffentlicht. Auch wenn Read feststellt, dass es bereits viele hörenswerte Tribute Tapes gab, musste er noch einen Mix mit seiner Handschrift nachlegen. Gut so.

“Predictably, the internet has been awash with MCA / Beastie Boys tribute mixes in the days that have passed since the untimely passing of Adam Yauch. I’ve listened to many, enjoyed a few but, as I often do, felt the need to put my own mark on it all. So, in less than 24 hours I set about putting together ‘Boutique Beats’, not your standard ‘best of’, but a collection of some of my favourites, laced with original breaks samped by the Beastie Boys (largely but not exclusively for the Paul’s Boutique album), acapellas, remixes and plenty else besides.”

The Neighbourhood verschenken derzeit ihre sehr großartige EP mit dem völlig ungerechtfertigten Titel “I’m Sorry”. Wer also der gepflegten Gitarrenmusik gegenüber nicht ganz abgeneigt ist und bereit ist, eine Mailadresse als Tausch gegen gute und kostenlose Musik herzugeben, ist hier genau richtig.
