Spiedkiks sind ein Musiker-Duo aus Köln und Stuttgart. Das aktuellste Release “Take Off Your Make Up” erschien vor einigen Tagen beim geschätzten Kölner Netlabel rec72. Spiedkiks machen einen sommerlichen Mix aus Big Beat, Funk, Boogie Hip-Hop und verleihen jedem Track ihre besondere, unverkennbare Signatur, durch und außergewöhnliche Samples.

Their album is loaded with excellent Big Beat, Funk, Boogie and Hip Hop. And heavy Scratching and some other extraordinary soundings, too. The overall music on Take Off Your Make Up has been played and arranged by Spiedkiks themselves or features fellow artists. Seven songs in 42 minutes.

Trotz der Fan-Accounts sind Bandcamp-Releases meist noch sehr schwer zu entdecken. Dieses Release von Vincent Parker habe dank Sven Swift vom Error Broadcast Netlabel nicht verpasst. Auf “Hypo” finden sich 13 elektronische Bassmusiktracks mit psychedelischem Tiefgang. Parker selbst kommt aus Canada und produziert diese wuchtigen Beats mit einem sehr schlichten Audiosetup.

Hailing from the bass drenched streets of East Vancouver, Vincent has his own instantly recognizable brand of music a typeof live blissed out psych power bass rhythms that are steeped in the psychedelic omnipresent mist of the Pacific Northwest.

Vincent uses a streamlined live PA setup: a PC laptop running FL studio, two Kaoss pads,+ an mpd32 controller + only records live conducted takes.

Gonzales explained his motivation: “I will do this to push my musical and physical stamina. I believe music is part art, part athletics and this 27-hour concert will demonstrate both aspects.”
